IBM TS4300 Tape Library for Lenovo (Machine Type 6741) combines IBM enterprise tape automation and reliability with open system affordability. It is a high-density, highly scalable, easy-to-manage solution designed to keep data securely stored long-term, while helping reduce the costs associated with data center space and utilities.

The TS4300 utilizes modular design to meet growing long-term storage requirements. Starting with a single 3U base module, customers can scale the tape library by adding up to six 3U expansion modules for the overall capacity of up to 272 LTO cartridges. Each 3U base or expansion module can house up to 40 cartridges in two removable magazines (the lowest module in the TS4300 configuration or single-module configurations can hold up to 32 cartridges).

Each 3U module can accommodate up to three half-high tape drives or a combination of one half-high tape drive and one full-high tape drive. The choice of the tape drives includes IBM LTO Ultrium 8, Ultrium 7, and Ultrium 6 tape drives with SAS or Fibre Channel host connectivity interfaces.

The TS4300 is an ideal solution if you need a larger capacity or higher performance tape backup. This library is an excellent choice for tape automation for Lenovo servers running Windows and Linux operating systems.

IBM TS2900 Tape Autoloader for Lenovo (Machine Type 6171) is an entry-level compact 1U tape unit that offers IBM tape reliability, density, and performance for entry-level and compact tape libraries at a cost-effective price.

With a capacity of nine cartridges, the TS2900 Tape Autoloader is a rack-mountable or deskside unit that contains a single IBM LTO Ultrium half-high SAS tape drive. The choice of the tape drives includes IBM LTO Ultrium 8 Half-High SAS Tape Drive (Model S8H), IBM LTO Ultrium 7 Half-High SAS Tape Drive (Model S7H), IBM LTO Ultrium 6 Half-High SAS Tape Drive (Model S6H), or IBM LTO Ultrium 5 Half-High SAS Tape Drive (Model S5H).

The TS2900 is an ideal solution if you need an entry-level larger capacity or higher performance tape backup with or without random access. The TS2900 is an excellent choice for tape automation for Lenovo servers.

The TS2900 is equipped with standard features designed to provide ease-of-use and secured data backup. Web-based remote management, a bar code reader and a removable tape magazine help provide ease of use. The TS2900 can be used in a rack system or on a desktop next to a server in an office. These types of features help reduce the amount of required IT personnel, as well as help centralize backups in the data center. HPE T950 Tape Libraries, from robotics, to drives, to software, to media offer performance innovations in automated tape technologies.

The transporter has been designed with two primary goals: performance and reliability. These are accomplished by reduced cycle time or tape mount time (better performance) and increased mean time between failures (better reliability).

With LTO-8 or TS1155 Technology, at maximum drive configuration, transfer data up to 155.5 TB/hr. (302.4 TB/hr. compressed).

With LTO-8 Technology, you can store over 120.2 PB (300.6 PB compressed) of data at the maximum slot configuration and capacity can range from 50 to 10,020 slots and 1 to 120 drives.

With TS1155 Technology, you can store over 114.2 PB (285.5 PB compressed) of data at the maximum slot configuration and capacity can range from 45 to 7,614 slots and 1 to 120 drives.

Built-in Flexibility

HPE T950 Tape Libraries, can operate either LTO-8/LTO-7/LTO-6 or TS1155/TS1150 tape technologies. Paired with extensive software and hardware partners, organizations can develop customized workflows for every situation.

Thin provisioning optimizes the available storage in the partitions of a tape library. Administrators can change the size of a partition in the library without reconfiguring the entire library. It provides virtual storage capacity for simplified administration, reducing downtime and costs.

Empty TeraPacks provide a means to import tape media, already written with data, into a new library for continued use or migration. TeraPacks can also provide additional storage outside of the library.
