    Further Details

    Intelligent options port
This highly flexible KVM switch centralizes and simplifies high-end, multihead video switching access at a single user console with two VGA screens.

Plus, with advanced support for multiple high-speed USB devices, the ServSwitch Wizard VGA, USB serves today's busy multitaskers quite well.

It's ideal for IT administrators and medical imaging, graphic design, and broadcast studio professionals who not only require quick, reliable access to multiple computer CPUs and multiple video channels, but also need simultaneous access to a mix of USB peripherals.

Select a channel on the ServSwitch Wizard VGA using hotkeys, a three-button mouse, or the switch's front-panel controls. When autoscan is enabled, the switch cycles between connected computers in sequence automatically. A seven-segment numeric display indicates the selected channel.

    Multihead video channel access-simplified.
The ServSwitch Wizard VGA enables a single KVM workstation user to control four separate computer systems or servers and flexibly share peripherals among them.

In addition to multihead VGA video KVM user console inputs for multiscreen workstations, the switch features dual VGA video connectors on each of its four computer channels. This way, you have easy access to two video heads on each channel. For DVI support, see the ServSwitch Wizard DVI Dual-Link with True USB Emulation models (KV2X04A series).

Each video head channel on this high-quality switch supports VGA video. Plus, it supports high resolutions, whether you need 1920 x 1200 video for post-production type work or 1920 x 1200 image clarity for very detailed medical or R&D lab imaging.

In addition to multiple video connectors, each computer channel on the ServSwitch Wizard VGA has USB Type B and a 3.5-mm audio jack inputs.

  • Black Box Digital KVM Matrix Switch - 30-Port - 30 Computer(s) - 1 Local User(s) - 1920 x 1200 - 31 x Network (RJ-45) - Rack-mountable

    Small, yet powerful
Small in size, but large in features and performance, the DCX Digital KVM Matrix Switch is an ideal solution for process monitoring and control, broadcast studios, medical labs, testbeds, and advanced data centers where the personnel numbers are lower than in enterprise-sized organizations.

    Slim chassis and small SAMs
The DCX Digital KVM Matrix Switch is an attractive option for small to medium applications with ports to support a combination of users and servers, with a supported maximum of 23 CPUs/servers.

Interface-powered server access modules (SAMs) extend DVI or DisplayPort and USB signals over shielded CAT6 or higher rating. In a Matrix setup, the SAM (Server Access Module) can be up to 10m from the DCX switch, and the User Station can be up to 50m away from the DCX switch using shielded category rated cabling. In a Point to Point setup where the SAM (Server Access Module) connects to the DCX Receiver directly, you may extend up to 50m from the SAM to the Receiver. The SAMs support audio via the USB interface, and the receiver can output the audio through the 3.5-mm jack.

    Price point is on point
Not every broadcast studio or control room needs a large, expensive KVM matrix switch with all the bells and whistles. The DCX Digital KVM Matrix Switch has an attractive price point for smaller applications while still providing crystal-clear video and fast matrix switching.

    Intuitive user interface
The unique and easy-to-use graphical interface is more intuitive to use than a text-based on-screen menu (OSD). Choose from auto-refreshed preview thumbnails, which are larger and easier to see. The GUI shows all connected devices in a layout that makes the matrix simple to view at a glance.

    Zero compression, pixel perfect
The DCX Digital KVM Matrix Switch delivers every pixel of every video frame with zero compression and zero latency, fulfilling the needs of even the most demanding graphical applications and guaranteeing perfect video synchronization for multiple display applications.

    Secure configuration
Secure system configuration is provided by the Web user interface, which is also compatible with tablet and mobile devices. The UI gives an administrator control for connected devices, enabling the choice of video only, shared, private, or exclusive access modes to be set up. In private mode, other users are able to view the shared video but have no keyboard and mouse access to the target. In exclusive mode, no other user has access to the configuration.

    System by Design

Emerald comprises of a choice of transmitters connecting computers or virtual machines to the system and receivers connecting the user consoles. High-performance Emerald network switches with 12, 28,- 32-, or 48 ports ensure trouble-free KVM over IP extension and matrix switching connections. A range of SFP/SFP+ transceivers proofs best performing video quality and KVM extensions over the required distances.

Use the Emerald transmitter to connect DisplayPort servers with resolutions up to 4K60, transparent USB, serial, and audio to your Emerald System.

Instant access across the entire enterprise

Emerald makes your migration painless, enabling you to scale access infinitely and gradually across buildings, campuses, and the wide-area network, using your existing network infrastructure - with switching between sources at speeds of less than half a second.

    Digital video at its best

Emerald is the first KVM platform that supports pixel perfect 4K DisplayPort video at 60 Hz over standard IP network switches. Image transmission with mathematical lossless compression visualizes every single pixel at 60 fps with 10-bit color depth.

If you're not ready for 4K, start with the Emerald 2K options, supporting one or two full HD DVI channels, and migrate to 4K at your own pace by transitioning individual user groups when the need arises.

    Virtualization

More and more physical servers are being replaced by virtualization, allowing better performance, availability, scalability, and return on investment. Emerald simplifies access to both physical and virtual servers with virtual machine support for VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix, using RDP 8.1, RemoteFX, and PCoIP, among others.

    Fail-safe operation

All Emerald transmitters and receivers feature copper or fiber connectivity through one (HD) or two (4K) flexible SFP+ slots.

Your 24/7 operation requires network resilience. Use the redundant network ports on the Emerald units to provide continuous, uninterrupted operation even if one network link experiences loss-of-service. Connect the endpoints either through two alternative direct links, a direct link, and a network connection or two independent networks.

    Network Requirements

For HD video, Emerald requires a standard Gigabit Ethernet network and possibly a 10 Gigabit aggregate switch, depending on how many endpoints you have. For 4K video, you'll need a standard 10 Gigabit Ethernet network with a 100 Gigabit aggregate switch for 20+ endpoints. For both, the network infrastructure required by Emerald can be built with IEEE 802.3 standards-based components from Black Box or other manufacturers.

    Management

Emerald supports two ways to manage the system: locally via the receiver's OSD or the Boxilla central KVM manager. Emerald in combination with Boxilla enables timesaving, controllable presets, and multi-user settings. Monitor network usage, define user access rights, and set up automated intrusion alerts. You can also pool designated CPU resources, allowing for user selection by type of server/PC/desktop rather than by individual dedicated resource. Even more important, you can prepare for instantaneous recovery from disasters with one-click access to an entire backup control room in a different location. The KVM main control room configuration can be replicated anywhere you have a network connection.
