Generate forms and save in printer

The Lexmark Forms and Bar Code Card is designed to accept electronic forms generated using Lexmark Forms Composer and saved in flash memory or hard disk in Lexmark printers using Lexmark Forms Manager. Requires either flash memory or a hard disk for electronic form storage in the MFP or printer.

Merge and Print

Merge and quickly print forms using only the variable ASCII text data transmitted over the network. This card works in conjunction with the printer firmware to monitor incoming ASCII, SAP RDI or PCL data. In the event that incoming data contains a pattern consistent with conditions set in a resident electronic form, a form merge process is initiated.

Simple Data Merge

This card works with Ethernet networks for IBM AS/400, S/390, IBM iSeries and UNIX (any host) using ASCII, SAP RDI (with Lexmark SAP® R/3® Device Type for PCL) or PCL data. It also supports PCL® and PostScript command access for more than 47 industry standard one-and two-dimensional bar codes.

Lexmark Forms Manager

Use Lexmark Forms Manager to upload and manage forms, to update firmware and to change the mode (Print, Data Capture, Disabled, Archive* and Print, and Archive* Only) of the card. *Archive modes require a hard disk.

Consideration

Only one of these card may be used at any time: Forms and Bar Code, Card for IPDS, Card for PRESCRIBE or Lexmark PrintCryption Card. These cards are installed in the same single connector.

AFP/IPDS printing

Print either host-based or client-based output on your network-attached Lexmark laser printer. With a Lexmark Card for IPDS option, use your MFP or printer for both network printing and for IBM iSeries (AS/400) or IBM zSeries computer jobs.Print bar codes, forms, publications and graphics closer to your end users, giving you the associated cost and time savings from true distributed printing. So now direct your AFP/IPDS output using the TCP/IP protocol.

Host Resource Resolution is sensed (Auto) to enable support for 240, 300 and 600 dpi. Supports 2-dimensional bar codes such as PDF 417, DataMatrix, Maxicode and Quick Response(QR). Supports 1-dimensional bar codes such as Code 128, US Postal bar codes including PLANET and Intelligent Mail Container, Royal Mail bar codes including Red Tag and other retail and postal bar codes.

Color printing to shades of grey

Supports Function Set 45 (FS 45) for full color printing. Color Management Object Content Architecture (CMOCA) resource support for color printing. color documents are transformed into black and shades of grey based on the color Mode setting.

Font Capture to Reduce Network Traffic

Using Print Services Facility (PSF), capture fonts (including Chinese, Korean and Japanese), either TrueType, bitmaps or outlines, to hard disk or to flash memory resulting in reduced network traffic.

Maximise productivity

Locate your printer wherever you need it to maximise its productivity. With Lexmark's SmartSwitch auto-emulation sensing built into every Lexmark laser printer, your printer will automatically switch to the proper document language, whether it is IPDS, PostScript or PCL™. Configure IPDS configuration settings using the MarkNet™ print server's resident web server, a browser and the printer's IP address.
