The System Installation Cable is used for creating custom length system installation cables. The system installation cable can be used to make cables with a maximum length of 100 m (328 ft) by terminating with the connectors for solid core cables (DCNM-CBCON-I) using the system cable toolkit (DCNM-CBTK). The system installation cable has a low smoke zero halogen jacket to comply with safety and environmental standards. The cable also has a solid core, which provides better performance for cable lengths over 5 meter.

The DICENTIS System Cable Assemblies are terminated at both ends with RJ45 like connectors with additional power pins. The cable assemblies are used to connect a DICENTIS device to the audio powering switch or to the powering switch. It provides network communication and power transports in one cable. The cable assemblies are used when loop-through and redundant cable connections are required. The cable assemblies have a low smoke zero halogen jacket to comply with safety and environmental standards. The cables are solid core which provides better performance for cable lengths over 5 meter.

The connectors for solid core cable can be used with the 250 m (820.2 ft) system network installation cable to create your own cables, or with the cable assemblies to replace the connector or shorten the cable. These connectors are suited for both DICENTIS solid core cables and for stranded wire cables. The system cable toolkit (DCNM-CBTK) is used to connect the connectors.

The DICENTIS cable coupler enables Technicians to connect DICENTIS cable assemblies (with one another or with standard CAT-E cable) without the need for special tools.

The cable coupler can be used to:

• Connect two DICENTIS cables so you can easily increase cable length.
• Connect two DICENTIS cables, where one is always present and ends in a "floor pod" and the other cable is only connected when it is required (for example, a rostrum microphone which will not always be used). The cable coupler can be fixed with screws to the floor pod.
• Interconnect DICENTIS cable with standard CAT5-E cable and power cable so you can comply with local regulations or make use of current available infrastructure
• Interconnect DICENTIS cable with standard CAT5-E cable and a 48VDC power supply close to the devices
• Create a circuit to power on a system without the need of a Multimedia device, a PC running the Meeting application, or Synoptic control.

Functions

• Makes it is easier to adjust cables to the required length when installing rental systems. Offers a means to create cables for the desired length by just interconnecting standard cables without the need for special tools.
• Makes it easy to connect "temporary" devices (for example, a rostrum microphone) to the DICENTIS system. At the location of the rostrum microphone, the cable coupler is used as the endpoint of the cable (mounted in a floor pod).
• Makes it possible to comply to the most stringent norms for fixed/installation cable in buildings. Enables you to use standard CAT-5E and power cable for the part where the norms have to be met, and DICENTIS cable in the conference room.
• Makes it easy to re-use existing infrastructure/ networks (for example, if a CAT-5E network is already in place).
• Makes it possible to place a 48 VDC power supply (not part of the Bosch portfolio) close to the participant devices.

Requirements for the power supply:

• nominal output of 48 VDC (ranging from 47 - 49 VDC).
• the ripple should be less than 200 mV pk-pk.
• maximum output current should not exceed 3.0 A (or limited to 3.0 A, because DICENTIS cables and devices have a maximum rating for this current).

Advice

• It is strongly advised that the power supply has its own short circuit protection with a short circuit output current ranging from 4.3 to 5.0 A.
• When the power supply has an automatic restart after a short circuit, this restart function should have an interval time of 3 to 4 seconds and should have no more than 4 restart attempts.
• Upon powering off the power supply, the output should be less than 9 V, 1 mA.

The Name Card Holder is attached to the rear side of the DICENTIS multimedia Device. Two magnets on the top of the card allow it to be easily positioned and removed.
A custom made paper card can be easily slid into the name card holder.
